Located close by Place Garibaldi, the museum architecture was designed by Yves Bayard and Henri Vidal in 1990. It stands as a monument to modernity in the city centre. A wide range of art collections from the 1950s until today are on display all the year round, featuring artists such as Yves Klein, Andy Warhol, Niki de Saint-Phalle, Pierre Soulages and James Lee Byars.

The villa is a masterpiece in itself with its incredible interior decoration designed by the architects Hans-Georg Tersling and Aaron Messiah.

The Marc Chagall National Museum houses the biggest public collection of the artist's work on the theme of the Old Testament. Two rooms are dedicated to the Biblical Message. The auditorium is famous for its 3 large stained-glass windows, representing the Creation of the World.
Start off the visit with a walk with your family in the gardens around the museum. The gardens were designed by Henri Fish, in collaboration with Marc Chagall. The Palais Lascaris is at the heart of Vieux-Nice. It is a traditional aristocratic residence in Nice Baroque style. It was built by the Lascaris-Vintimille family. Today it has the Musée de France label and has been listed as a Historic Monument since 1946. The palace houses pieces on the themes of art and music with a collection of over 500 musical instruments dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, as well as paintings and furniture.
