Nice rolls out the red carpet for the carnival from February 15th to 29th 2020. The 2020 Nice Carnival pays tribute to an icon on the theme of fashion: Karl Lagerfeld. One of the world's biggest festivals has an action-packed 15-day schedule just minutes from your 3* hotel: the Best Western Hôtel Lakmi Nice.

The Nice Carnival poster is a nod to the 2020 event's theme. It features a caricature of Karl Lagerfeld as the Carnival King in tribute to Chanel's famous artistic director. Place Masséna and its signature paving stones turn into a catwalk for the floats, big heads and bands to strut their stuff. The 2020 Nice Carnival schedule

The Nice Carnival has been a show-stopper for almost 150 years. In 2020, the Nice Carnival goes on parade 5 times with the Illuminated Carnival Corso in the evening: the King and Queen parade with a dozen floats, over 130 papier mâché big heads and 1600 artists. During the event, the Carnival Corso parades once a day to celebrate the Parada Nissarda designed by children from Nice associations. The Flower Battle parades on Place Masséna 5 times with models in costume on floats throwing mimosas and flowers in their thousands to the public.

Event dates:

Flower battle at 2.30pm: Sat 15/02, Weds 19/02, Sat 22/02, Weds 26/02 and Sat 29/02.
Illuminated Carnival Corso at 9pm: Sat 15/02, Tues 18/02, Sat 22/02 and Sat 29/02
Carnival Corso – Parada Nissarda at 2.30pm: Sun 23/02
